Darren Elias will be PartyPoker U.S. Network’s new brand ambassador, according to BetMGM, one of the largest sports betting and digital gambling companies.
With the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open this weekend in New Jersey, Elias will be promoting and competing in numerous online events across all live markets (September 19-21).
There is a natural synergy between Elias and Partypoker, the official poker partner of the World Poker Tour (WPT). The WPT Online Borgata Poker Open will take precedence over all other tournaments for him. This year’s tournament will be broadcast live on the Partypoker U.S. network, and you may watch it there. The tournament is accessible to New Jersey poker players through Partypoker NJ, Borgata Poker, and BetMGM Poker.
Elias, who lives in N.J., won his first of four WPT titles in the Borgata Poker Open in 2014 and is the all-time leader in wins, final tables, and cashes in the WPT’s history. Throughout his 15-year career, Darren has earned approximately $9 million in live poker earnings and more than $8 million in online tournament earnings. Tom Wheaton, the founder of Above the Felt Entertainment, arranged his collaboration with partypoker U.S. Network.
There will be a $1 million guarantee for the first-ever Borgata Poker Open to be played online. This is the greatest online guarantee ever issued in the regulated U.S. poker market and equals the WSOP record. This year, Elias will be competing for the lion’s share of the prize pool and another WPT crown.
After a freeroll tournament in which ten players received entrance into the event, satellites began on August 29 and cost five dollars.
To compete in the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open, participants must be physically situated in New Jersey at BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker, or partypoker.
